SEC’s New Cobra Bond Line Ensures Consistent Board Quality
Saturn Installs Hollmuller Cobra Bond Line Maintains Chemical Concentration for High Reliability
Detroit, MI November 27, 2007 – Saturn Electronics Corp., bare printed circuit board manufacturer, installed a new Hollmuller Cobra Bond line, capable of processing down to 2 mil inner layer core, into its Romulus-based PWB Fabrication facility last week.
Complete with its own feed bleed system, the new cobra bond line is capable of maintaining chemical concentration, which ensures the consistent quality of the alternative oxide coating. Running 10 feet per minute, the new line doubles PCB production capacity for this process.
Passing Savings to the Customer
This line was purchased new in 2002 by a Global Top 5 PCB fabricator for £700,000 (USD$ 1.13 million), but never put into service due to the slowdown in the global PCB industry. We purchased this line from them for only $50,000. Installed, including rigging, transportation, etc., the total cost was still under $200,000.
